Our beginning · 1998
On February 22, 1998, the first services were held in the Pruitte family room — the entire family becoming charter members. The first message was "Why Holiness." Within weeks, worship moved to Neabsco Elementary School.
About HTC
Holiness Tabernacle is a holiness church in Woodbridge, Virginia — a suburb of Washington, D.C. in eastern Prince William County — where the unadulterated Word of God is preached and lives are transformed by the Holy Spirit.
At Holiness Tabernacle, attendees are encouraged to live holy and sanctified (set apart) lives and be filled with the Holy Ghost, as the Lord commanded (Ephesians 5:8). We believe in praising and worshipping God, we emphasize teaching the Word, travailing in prayer, and fasting — what is commonly referred to as a New Testament Church. Our members continue to share testimonies of healing, deliverance, and prosperity.
When you visit, you will find a God-loving, God-fearing congregation. You will feel the move of the Spirit, experience a mighty move of God, and be welcomed and loved by a family of believers who have been impacted by the love of Jesus Christ.
Our story
On February 22, 1998, the first services were held in the Pruitte family room — the entire family becoming charter members. The first message was "Why Holiness." Within weeks, worship moved to Neabsco Elementary School.
During the Great Recession, the church was blessed to purchase property at 1440 Old Bridge Road, just off Interstate 95 — the front door of Prince William County. God continued to bless.
Through the pandemic, God enabled Holiness Tabernacle to purchase land outright, secure land-use and site-plan approval, and break ground in spring 2024. On March 9, 2025, the saints marched into their new 12,000 sq. ft. home at 1505 Walnut Street.

Founder & Pastor
Pastor Eddie B. Pruitte, Jr. is the founder and pastor of Holiness Tabernacle. Having served for more than twenty-five years, he has shepherded the church from its early start in the family room to its newly constructed home at 1505 Walnut Street. Under his teaching of true holiness, souls have been saved, healed, and filled with the Spirit of God.
Born in Aurora, Illinois and reared in the Church Of God In Christ, he accepted his call to ministry in 1984 and was ordained by Bishop William H. Bonner in 1988. He holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2014 he was named one of the 100 most influential pastors in the Church Of God In Christ. He has been married for thirty-eight years to First Lady Vivian Pruitte; together they have four daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
First Lady
First Lady Vivian Valdez Pruitte has served beside her husband for the life of the church, imparting holy and sound teaching to the women. A native of the Dominican Republic, she graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University and is a licensed evangelist missionary.
At Holiness Tabernacle she serves as president of the Christian Education Department and on the Mother's Board, and is known for her keen knowledge of the Word. She has been appointed as an Advisory Missionary to the Journey Center in the Dominican Republic, serving girls who have been victims of trafficking. A mighty worshipper and prayer warrior, she now works full-time in ministry alongside Pastor Pruitte.
